Meet Shilo

Shilo Caravantes is a certified strength and conditioning specialist/personal trainer and founder of The Glute Institute. As a native San Diegan, Shilo began his journey as an athlete competing in high school football and baseball at the national level, which has helped him understand the fitness training needs of his clients’ bodies. To support his passion for sports medicine and aesthetic composition, Shilo is continuing his education with a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanical Analysis of Efficiency.

Shilo has more than seven years’ experience in fitness and training, and holds certifications in a diverse mix of independent trainings, such as strength and conditioning specialist, personal trainer, active release therapy, systematic dry needling, therapeutic cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, active resistance neuromuscular massage and more.

Areas of focus

Shilo’s specialties include strength and weight training for women, growing glutes without growing thighs or legs, glute sculpt/lift through exercise, resistance, weight loss, muscle building, flexibility, mobility, posture enhancement, and manual soft tissue therapy to enhance recovery and regeneration.

Mission and Goal

Shilo’s mission is to give women the confidence to train with weights/machines and know they are doing so safely with good technique, maintaining correct form and with purpose.

His goal is to help women feel good about themselves, gain confidence, and be strong and empowered.

Where does Shilo train clients?

Shilo works with his clients in person at the D.C. Athletics facility on Ronson Rd., by the 52 Fwy & Convoy St., as well as at the 24-Hour Fitness at UTC La Jolla.

He offers concierge services and provides onsite coaching and can meet clients at their personal gym or private residence gym. Soon Shilo will coach virtually online and via his fitness app.

Shilo also specializes in manual soft tissue therapy

Shilo has extensive experience in providing sports therapy and treating athletes of all levels and sports – from top college athletes and professional athletes (NFL) (MLB) (NBA) to professional fighters (MMA). Despite the accolades associated with this level of clientele, his proudest moments come from his experiences working with high school student-athletes, and empowering women in the gym and building their self-confidence.

Shilo customizes his manual soft tissue therapy treatments specifically for each client’s needs using several different methods and treatments with exceptional results and facilitating enhanced recovery and regeneration.
